PROFESSIONALISM IN ACTING, TAP DANCE

Renee is a Theatre Director at Haltom High where she has directed musicals and plays for 26 years. She loves teaching playwriting and dramaturgy and preparing her students for college. She is on the board for Stand and was in awe of Jessie’s ministry from its conception. She also directs and choreographs at Artisan Center Theatre, and has been blessed to get to work as an actress in DFW since moving to Texas as a teenager. She is married to Ethan Norris and they have two children - Ellie and Dominic.
In her Master Classes, Renee will bring her extensive theatre expertise to give curated insight into the professionalism of the performing arts industry.

Cameron Byerly is a movement specialist, director, stunt coordinator, choreographer, and motivational speaker from Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with an emphasis in Acting. Cameron not only has over fifteen years of onstage experience as a performer and movement coach, but he has also been a jiu-jitsu practitioner for nine years and has worked as a stunt coordinator in Los Angeles.
In his master classes, Cameron will bring his extensive theatre and movement expertise to challenge students to push past mental blocks and commit to their choices on the stage.

CHRISTINA MAJOR DAVIS
VOCAL TECHNIQUE
August 3, 2024 (10 AM-1 PM) - Mastering Your Voice
American Soprano Christina Major has been praised in the Dallas Morning News for her sumptuous and agile "Italianate sound" that brings back memories of the earlier greats. She was hailed in Opera News as being a "sensitive actress" who "brought the highest emotional stakes of the evening." San Francisco Chronicle's Joshua Kosman describes her as having "expressive verve and technical command.” She has performed with countless operas and symphonies in places such as Carnegie Hall and Broadway since 2005 and has numerous performances lined up for 2024.
In her master class, Christina will teach how minor changes in technique can yield results and create longevity in your singing journey.

ABI OXLEY-DERRICK
IMPROV PERFORMANCE
June 15, 2024 (10 AM-1 PM) - Improv with Abi
Abi has been involved with Musical Theatre and Performance for over 10 years, having worked in all facets of theatre including performance, directing, teaching, design, choreography, stage management, and production management. She has had the honor of working with theaters all over the state of Texas including Casa Mañana, Music Theatre of Denton, The Theatre Company of BCS, UNT Theatre, Wishing Star Stage Company, Artisan Center Theater, Grand Prairie Arts Council, and STAND! Abi attended Texas A&M University and the University of North Texas, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Education. During college, her primary focus of study was theatre for young audiences and using performance as a tool in any classroom.
In her master class, Abi will hone her years of theatre experience and education to challenge the students to step out of their comfort zones and into the fun that is improvisational theatre.

MARK WOOLSEY
BALLROOM DANCE
July 6, 2024 (10 AM-1 PM) - Introduction to Ballroom Dance
Woolsey has been teaching ballroom dancing for almost 15 years. He teaches many styles including Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, English Country Dance (not to be confused with American Country Dance), and others. Mark focuses on social dancing rather than competitive, so most steps taught by him are accessible to those with little experience. His students have taken the dancing skills they learned from him to professional dance jobs and to the Russian embassy. Mark loves to teach and is convinced that everyone that can walk, can dance. Yes, that even means you! He conducts his own dance lessons and balls, and accepts requests to call dances at lessons and balls, too.
In his master class, Mark will hone his 15 years of ballroom teaching experience and introduce the students to the styles of slow waltz, tango, east coast swing, foxtrot, and rumba.

DEARDRE RANDOLPH
June 29, 2024 (10 AM-1 PM) - Comprehensive Jazz & Hip Hop
Deardre graduated with a BA in Dance from Texas Women’s University in 2021 and has been teaching at STAND for 7 years. She has trained with Rhythmic Souls Drawbacks tap ensemble, Dallas Black Dance Theatre (Summer Intensive), and the Debbie Allen Dance Institute. Deardre has performed in prestigious venues such as the Bass Performance Hall, was a member of the Hoofin’ Crew Tap Ensemble, and danced with Triple Motion Dance Company for 2 years. Deardre was a member of Stephen F. Austin State University’s collegiate pom squad winning second place in Division 2 at National Dance Association College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. She has been in touring companies, performed in galas, and had an original piece selected to be adjudicated at the American College Dance Association conference.
In her master class, Deardre will challenge the students physically, mentally, and technically in an all-encompassing workshop surrounding the genres of Jazz and Hip Hop.

FILM ACTING
July 20, 2024 (10 AM-1 PM) - Break Into Film & TV Acting
Chris Gallego Wong is an award-winning producer, director, editor, and actor. He began his artistic journey working in the theatre at a very young age. Chris honed his craft by studying acting and directing at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He also had the distinguished honor of spending a semester at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. During his time at both institutions, Chris trained with world-renowned artists from both stage and screen. This training culminated in performances at esteemed venues like Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. After more than a decade of successful acting experience, Chris appeared in numerous national television commercials and guest-starred on the Emmy Award-winning television show ER. He then transitioned to filmmaking, founding his Los Angeles-based production company. Through this company, Chris wrote, produced, and directed numerous award-winning films, web series, and commercials. Chris's talent has been recognized on a global scale. In 2018, he received the Papaya Films' Bursary Award for Best Emerging Director at the world premiere of his powerful short film, SAVIORS. His award-winning feature film, Train Baby, is now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Most recently, Chris directed the Artisan-produced short film, Hope, which has garnered multiple awards for directing and acting at film festivals across the United States and Europe.

For K-6th Graders, a weekly singing, dancing, and acting workshop from 10 AM-12 PM on Saturdays, building up to a mini-musical storytelling of Inside Out at the end of the semester.
