NEWSIES intensive AUDITIONS
Step into the bustling streets of 1899 New York, where the clamor of printing presses meets the shouts of newsboys fighting to survive. Disney’s Newsies invites you to tell the story of Jack Kelly and his band of scrappy underdogs, young dreamers who stand together to challenge the powerful and rewrite their futures. This summer, Stand Performing Arts brings this riveting tale to life in a way that will leave you forever changed. It’s not just about performing—it’s about becoming part of a movement, learning how courage, loyalty, and resilience can shape your character and the world around you. Together, we’ll build friendships as strong as the newsies’ brotherhood and ignite the determination to stand tall, dream big, and seize every opportunity ahead. JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH AUDITIONS
Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach is now a musical for the whole family to enjoy! Featuring a wickedly tuneful score by the Tony Award-nominated team of Pasek and Paul (Dogfight and A Christmas Story the Musical) and a curiously quirky book by Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley), critics rave: James and the Giant Peach is a "masterpeach!"
When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.
A delightfully offbeat adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl adventure, the creative possibilities with James and the Giant Peach are endless. Actors will love playing the outlandish characters and performing brand new material from one of Broadway's hottest duos.

Audition Info:
For the audition, please prepare a 32-bar cut of a song in the style of the show, as well as one of the preselected monologues from the show, which can be found here.
The monologue does not need to be memorized. You simply need to be familiar with it.
Important Dates:
Auditions: June 30th from 6-9 PM, Callbacks on July 1st
Rehearsals: Mondays and Tuesdays 6PM-8:30PM, July 7th-September 9th
Tech & Dress: September 10th-11th
Shows: September 12th-14th and September 19th-21st, Fridays 7pm, Saturdays 7pm, and Sundays 2pm
Production Fee: $100 (one time fee collected prior to show)
The Green Room Players AUDITIONS
The Green Room Players is Stand Performing Arts’ premier musical theatre performance group, offering year-round training and performance opportunities. Members develop their skills through classes, productions, and travel experiences, representing Stand at local and national events. Our team is grades 7th-12th.
Prepare a one-minute song and a one-minute monologue
Learn and perform a dance combo at the audition
Our first gathering as a team will be Monday, August 18th 4-5PM and a meeting with Parents from 5:15 to 6 PM. Our team will continue to meet August 25 through May 22 from 4 to 6 PM on Mondays.
Grades: 7-12
Important Dates:
Auditions: August 7th and 11th
Rehearsals: Mondays 4-6 PM
Performances: Perform in a Fall Cabaret on Saturday, October 18th at 7PM. JTF West in Sacramento, CA February 6th-9th. With a public send-off performance on February 2nd at 6PM. MTI Jr. Production April 4th at 2PM, 5PM, and 7PM. Final showcase on Monday May 18th at 5PM
Tuition: $130 Monthly
STAND OUT SELECT
Fall 2025
What Is STAND Select? This is STAND’s Professional Performance Team. We are hired to perform and minister at Festivals, Schools, churches, and more! (Bonus: If Stand is paid - you are paid!)
Who can Audition? Performers between the ages of 14-30.
The audition will include a Hip Hop Combo (sent to learn beforehand) and a 30-second vocal audition.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays from 5-6 PM and Saturdays from 1-2 PM
NOTICE: Performance Teams are a 2-semester commitment - auditions don't happen again till the next summer for the next year.

STAND UP
Fall 2025
What Is STAND Up? This is STAND’s K-6th Performance Team.
Who can Audition? K-6th Students who are advancing in Hip-Hop, Acting, and Vocals.
The audition will include a Hip Hop Combo (sent to learn beforehand) and a 30-second vocal audition.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays from 6-7 PM.
NOTICE: Performance Teams are a 2-semester commitment - auditions don't happen again till the next summer for the next year.
AUDITIONS ARE IN 2025.
STAND STRONG
Fall 2025
What Is STAND Strong? This is STAND’s 5th-12th Performance Team.
Who can Audition? Performers between the ages of 8-19.
The audition will include a Hip Hop Combo (sent to learn beforehand) and a 30-second vocal audition.
Rehearsals: Mondays from 5-6 PM.
NOTICE: Performance Teams are a 2-semester commitment - auditions don't happen again till the next summer for the next year.
