acting for camera with angel
Angel Somarriba is an American actor & writer who believes in taking a risk to tell a story. He’s hard at work on the first issue of the highly anticipated rebrand of the creative literary journal, Project Haiven (formerly Haiven House). Angel has been a part of the DFW theatre community for several years spanning many roles such as Butch Defeo in the regional premiere of Amityville’74, The Cat in the Hat in Seussical, Henry Jekyll/Hyde in Jekyll and Hyde, Ramon De La Vega in Zorro the Musical, Pheobus De Martin in the Hunchback of Notre Dame, which earned him a Column award nomination for best actor in a supporting role. He holds a BFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University and has trained with Adam Findley on character development and audition techniques. He is pursuing an MFA in Screenwriting at Regent University to further his knowledge. “For an actor to effectively do their job, they must understand the text, cover to cover before they can truly play in the playground they’re given.”
