Kayla Karnes | Hip-Hop

Kayla Karnes has been dancing for 18 years. She has experience in recreational, competitive, and professional. As many young dancers do, she started off in a tap/ballet combo class at the age of 3, then started competing at the age of 6 with Caron Moore Dance Productions, which later became Footworks Performing Arts Center. Kayla competed until the age of 12, when she decided to privately study ballet with a former American Ballet Theater ballerina. Upon entering high school, she joined the Azle High School Emerald Dazzlers drill team, where she performed and served as Historian, Junior Lieutenant, and Captain during her time there. She then danced for the Texas Wesleyan University Gold Line Dancers her first two years of college, and was blessed to dance for the NBA G-League’s Texas Legends Spirit Squad for the third. Kayla now teaches dance and choreographs for teams all over the state of Texas. Outside of dance Kayla is a senior at Texas Wesleyan University pursuing my B.S. of Biochemistry, and serve as Miss of Texas 2020 through American Pageants
